Easter

We hosted Easter this year which meant that Bailey got to spend that day with Grandma and Grandpa Perkins and Grandma and Grandpa Gardner, as well as her Uncle Trevor. She had a great time. She took a car ride to church and back with us and got to meet lots of new people. Then we came home and had brunch before heading to the Olympic Sculpture Park for our annual Easter Egg Hunt (we have no kids in the family anymore, we just think it's fun). Bailey even got to do her very own Easter Egg hung with puppy treats! She had a great time.

Car Rides

Bailey is definitely a car dog. She goes everywhere with us and we have discovered that one of her favorite places to be is in the car. It puts her to sleep instantaneously and she usually doesn't want to get out when we get home!

Sarah & Aidan!

Bailey got to meet Sarah and Aidan this weekend and she had a fantastic time! She loved running in the yard with the kids. All invovled had a great time and I imagine that there may be future play dates of a similar type down the road. I just hope the kids are prepared for her to be bigger than them!

Working Hard!

Bailey is a very lucky little girl and she gets to go to work with her Mom everyday right now. We have a little baby gate to create a kennel area for her and she likes to sleep on her blanket next to Mom's chair. And sometimes she likes to wrap herself up in her blanket which is where she gets her nickname, "Bailey Burrito." She spends 90% of the day sleeping at work, but she has her playful moments. And she definately distracts the fellow employees. How could they possibly work with an adorable puppy in the office?! :)

Playtime!

We drove to Ephrata on Sunday to visit Amy and Brad and their new puppy Shadow. Shadow and Bailey were quite the pair. They LOVED wrestling together, however, niether of them knew their own strength and the puppies started getting a bit rough so we had to tone it down a bit. Since we wouldn't let them wrestle the chewed on their toys together and frequently snagged each other's. By the end of the day they were all tuckered out. Bailey slept for 15 hours that night! She was exhausted.
It was a fun trip and we're glad we got to meet Shadow while he was still small. He's only a week older than Bailey, he's a black lab/pointer mix and he was BIGGER than Bailey! That surprised me a bit. I think Amy and Brad are in for a surprise when he grows up. Thanks Auntie Amy and Uncle Brad for letting us come play!

Bailey and her Papa

Bailey and her papa LOVE to snuggle. She loves it when Aaron picks her up and lets her cuddle with him. She instantly settles in and falls asleep. She has to be touching you when she sleeps and she likes to rest her head on you. As you can see, she is learning some sleeping habits from her Papa. Some day I will tell her that that is not a very lady-like way to sleep, but for now it's too cute. :)

Best Friends Forever

When we first picked Bailey up her Auntie Crystal and Uncle John came with us to get her. We took her straight to their house to meet her cousin Kylie. We soon realized that we were all in for a lot of trouble. Kylie and Bailey have quickly become best friends and they are VERY good at finding trouble together. We're pretty sure that they are going to be spending their days together trying to come up with ways to outsmart us.

Bailey's favorite thing about Kylie is that Kylie will let her chew on her for hours because she can't feel Bailey's sharp puppy teeth through all that fur! The two of them have been known to have snuggle sessions and to slip upstairs to the play room at Auntie Crystal's and create havoc. Bailey is learning some very good manners from Kylie as well. Kylie has been a huge help in the potty training process because Bailey wants to do everything Kylie does. We are now gearing up for our first camping trip with the kids. We'll see how Bailey does in the wild outdoors.

Bath Time!

Bailey is not always the cleanliest little girl. She doesn't tend to look where she's walking when we got potty and she steps in all kinds of land minds and puddles. SO...in the name of sanitary conditions she now gets weekly baths. She does pretty well in the tub. It's not her favorite, but she'll sit there and let me wash her off. And her favorite part is when we wrap her up in towels and let her cuddle with us while she dries.

Welcome Bailey Mae Gardner!

We would like to welcome Bailey Mae Gardner to our family! We picked her up from her parents at 9 weeks of age. She is 3/4 Great Dane, 1/4 Mastiff. Her father was a pure bred Gread Dane with the same coloring and her mother was 1/2 Mastiff, 1/2 Great Dane and a dark brindle color. Bailey weighed 18.4 lbs when we adopted her. Her father is not quite full grown and weighs 180lbs. Her mother is full size at 140lbs. So Bailey will be somewhere in between there we think.
She mostly sleeps right now since she has so much growing to do, but when she is awake she is quite playful and very loving. Her and the kitties get along pretty well, except for when Bailey wants to play tag and they don't. She LOVES to snuggle and thinks she is a lap dog of course. She is constantly amusing Aaron and I with her antics and expressions. She has quite the personality. We hope you will all get to meet her soon before she is ginormous!
